Unity in the Community
We will hold a special ceremony for families impacted by senseless violence and unsolved murders, a powerful moment to say their names, raise awareness, and call for accountability in the pursuit of justice. This year, we uplift the lives of Leonard James (LJ) Irving Jr., Debbie Kay Johnson, Asia R. Bell James, and Tyz' Juan James— four beloved community members whose stories reflect the urgent need for unity, remembrance, and healing.
Featuring blues legend John Primer, the event will also include soul-stirring music, wellness resources, culturally rooted vendors, and community-led moments of reflection. Hosted by Love Is Stronger GV, we invite all to join us in honoring the past. Bring a picture or some kind of keepsake to participate in our healing activities and come help build a safer, more connected Portland.

𝟏st Annual Love Is Stronger Gala Night
Since 2021, Love Is Stronger has been in service to the community, providing intentional resources and knowledge to help underserved community members heal from decades of trauma suffered from violence. Under the leadership of Lionel Irving Jr. and the LIS board of directors, it is now time to call for change by action.
The proceeds of this fundraiser will allow the organization to have boots-on-the-ground action in the spots that matter most to community stakeholders. The fundraiser proceeds will also create a stronger community of advocation and navigation for all underserved youth across the Pacific Northwest.
